The Immediate Past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan has expressed grief over the death of former Federal Lawmaker -Hon Joyce Overah who died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 after a brief ailment.
Dr. Uduaghan in a statement signed by his Media Assistance, Monoyo Edon, described Hon. Overah’s death as a monumental blow to the political landscape of Delta State, the people of Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Local Government Areas, whom he represented as a member of the House of Representatives between 2007-2011 and as a Board member of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) until his death.
“It is hard to believe that Hon. Joyce Overah is dead. Sadness is the only word I can find right now to describe his death. Resourceful politicians like him shouldn’t be leaving us now when we needed them the most.
He was one dedicated lawmaker that had the interest of his people at heart and served them meritoriously even on the board of DESOPADEC until his death.”
Dr. Uduaghan consoled his family, Urhobo nation and Delta State and prayed for the repose of the soul of the former Commissioner.
“This is indeed a very difficult time for his family. I pray God grants them, the entire Urhobo nation and indeed all Deltans the fortitude to cope throughout this difficult moment while believing that God who took him to rest with him knows best”.
May his soul rest in eternal peace
